RIDDOR Reporting Revisions
Posted on: February 7, 2012
New legislation: The Reporting of Injuries, Diseases and Dangerous Occurrences (Amendment) Regulations 2012
Amended legislation: The Reporting of Injuries, Diseases and Dangerous Occurrences Regulations 1995
Who does this affect: Great Britain
When does this change take place: 6th April 2012
The RIDDOR Regulations have been amended so that from 6th April the period of incapacitation before the injury or accident needs to be reported to the HSE is increased from over three days to over seven days incapacitation.
The period of time that the responsible person has to submit the report is also increased from within ten days to within fifteen days of the accident.
Employers must, however, still keep a record of all occupational injuries or accidents resulting in over three days of incapacitation. These records must be kept for three years.
