Environmental Noise Assessments

Environmental Compliance carry out environmental noise assessments to identify site generated noise and the likelihood of a site causing a nuisance to the surrounding area. The data generated from the survey is used to predicted the noise received at the identified noise-sensitive receptor (dwelling, etc) specifically to the operations of an installation.

The noise assessment can be made in accordance with the requirements of BS 4142:1997 “Method for rating industrial noise affecting mixed residential and industrial areas”.

All data is reported and comparisons would be made with any earlier studies or findings. Collected data would be compared with the World Health Organisation (WHO) guidelines on noise nuisance.

The risk assessment can be carried out over a 24-hour period, including weekends and periods of non-production, at the site boundary and noise sensitive receptors.
