Personal Exposure Monitoring

Regulation 10 of the Control of Substances Hazardous to Health Regulations 2002 requires the employer to measure the concentration of hazardous substances in the air where there is a risk to employees’ health.

Environmental Compliance Ltd can conduct workplace air monitoring assessments for substances hazardous to health to MDHS, OSHA or NIOSH standards.  The measured concentrations of hazardous substances are compared with the long term (8 hour) and short term (15 minutes) workplace exposure limits.

The following hazardous substances are routinely monitored for:

  • total inhalable and respirable dust;
  • respirable crystalline silica;
  • lead (under the Control of Lead at Work Regulations 2002);
  • heavy and trace metals;
  • organics (solvents etc).
